Brian Misko, House of Q
BBQ Brian Misko is a pit master and a storyteller, and he’s one of the best. Since leaving behind a job in the software industry to cook competitively, he and his House of Q team have been crowned Grand Champion at many barbecue competitions. In 2014 alone, he has earned the inaugural Canadian BBQ Society national Team of the Year, been crowned twice Grand Champion, and been selected to represent Canada at the Jack Daniels World Invitational BBQ Championship. A career highlight is winning first place ribs at the 2014 World Food Championships. BBQ Brian’s new cookbook titled Grilling with House of Q is gathering rave reviews and fans meanwhile educating cooking enthusiasts on how to be creative at grill. BBQ Brian can be seen providing “BBQ Tips” on Global BC’s Morning News, giving demos on trade show stages, and developing new products for his House of Q line of BBQ sauces and rubs. He lives in Surrey, B.C., with his family and a large collection of grills and smokers.
Aga, Chartered Herbalist & Founder of Herbologie
Aga is the founder of Herbologie and main curator of all products and recipes. Her vision is to showcase the simplicity + functionality behind spices and herbs while encouraging the conversation around how botanicals can complement any culinary experience. She is inspired by the origins of botanicals, fellow herbalists from across the globe and her own use of botanicals to complement her active outdoor lifestyle. Daniel Huber, The Burly Chef
With over 22 years of cooking experience under his belt, Chef Daniel Huber is a one of a kind culinary talent. His focus is on bold flavors, deconstructed dishes and the true fun and joy of cooking. A NAIT alumni Chef, he is currently taking steps towards furthering new food initiatives in the Edmonton area, both through store fronts and by spreading his knowledge firsthand with up and coming local Chefs. Daniel runs the Edmonton chapter of Leftovers. It is a food rescue company that saves waste and reroutes it to existing service agencies.
